Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds welcomes booked visits from educational and community groups of all ages, from primary and secondary schools, universities and colleges.
Our centre is small so the maximum number of pupils we can accommodate at any one time is 30, plus their accompanying adults.
Your visit to us –or us to you- will be tailored to your needs. If you require a particular focus please tell us.
A typical visit will last for one and a half hours and will feature any or all of the following:
- an experienced Buddhist teacher-guide
- an introduction to the Centre and its activities
- discussion of the Buddha’s life and teachings on compassion and wisdom
- exploring the shrine, paintings and Buddhist artefacts
- optional guided meditation
The meditation practices that we introduce are universal in their content. Pupils will not be involved in any chanting or ritual activity and we are careful to respect other faiths and beliefs.
If you visit our centre, we ask for a minimum donation of £40 per group. Cheques should be made payable to Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds and given to your guide, or you can donate via NoChex here.
