with Geshe Namdak
Saturday 26 October, 10:30am – 5:00pm
Our special guest teacher for this weekend is the new resident teacher at our sister center Jamyang London. This is a great opportunity to meet with a western Geshe and a wonderful practitioner. The talk will explore what the Buddha meant when he taught “Two Truths” – two ways of looking at reality and how these views help us understand how to practice in our daily lives.
Geshe Tenzin Namdak first worked as an environmental researcher having graduated in hydrology. He started studying Buddhism at Maitreya Institute in The Netherlands in 1993 and took ordination from His Holiness the Dalai Lama before engaging in his formal studies in Buddhist philosophy and psychology at Sera Jey Monastic University in South India, in 1997. He completed the entire twenty-year Geshe program at Sera Jey in 2017 and the traditional one-year Vajrayana study program at Gyume Tantric College in January 2019, the first Westerner to do so.
The suggested donation for this talk is £25
Classes are offered freely at Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds so as many people as possible can benefit. We do not get grants and all donations go towards running the Centre and covering the cost of visiting teachers. You can donate at the start of a class or online by clicking the link on the right.
