“If we want to develop Dharma wisdom, then offer light.” – Lama Zopa Rinpoche
Rinpoche adds: “By offering light, you are never in darkness while you are circling in samsara. There will always be light. And offering light just one time to Buddha creates the karma to have great wealth for many hundreds or thousands of lifetimes. We also attain a higher rebirth, in a pure land. We quickly achieve nirvana, and not only nirvana but also the great nirvana, enlightenment. These are the benefits of offering light.”
Light Offering Chanting at 7:15pm, 8:15pm and 9.15:pm
Wat Buddharam Thai Buddhist Temple will invite you to join them in Krathong making for the Thai Buddhist Loy Krathong festival, which marks the end of Buddhist lent and is a beautiful celebration of light involving displays on lakes and rivers. On Light Night you can participate in the festivities by making and launching your own illuminated flower boat, helping to create an evolving and eye-catching spectacle across the water.
