Khen Rinpoche Geshe Jamphel – Teachings on Atisha’s Lamp On The Path To Enlightenment (lamrim)
Wednesday evenings beginning 4 November 2020, 6pm-7.30pm UK time
We’re delighted to announce that Khen Rinpoche Geshe Jamphel, the Abbot of Nalanda Monastery and a great scholar and practitioner, has agreed to give us teachings on the lamrim.
Atisha’s Lamp on the Path to Enlightenment is actually the very first lamrim text which started a lineage of these extraordinary steps, from beginning to end, from beginners like us all the way to enlightenment. The lamrim starts with understanding how precious our human existence is, how fragile it is and therefore how we should use it in the best way possible, to escape from suffering and bring others with us.
Khen Rinpoche Geshe Jamphel has been teaching westerners at Nalanda Monastery and around Europe for over 25 years, teaching Basic and Masters Programme there. Known for his keen debate skills and understanding of the Prasangika view on emptiness, Khen Rinpoche brings humour, profound knowledge and a rare way of presenting the Buddha’s Dharma which makes us think and question our own thoughts and understanding.
These teachings will be from 6pm-7.30UK time (7pm-8.30pm French time) and will continue into December. It’s also likely that these teachings will continue into 2021 so we can finish the text.

We’re delighted that Nalanda’s senior translator Ven. Tharchin will be translating – he has been translating for Geshe Jamphel for over 20 years and is just completing his time as translator of the Master’s Programme.
