Friday 6th July, 5-6pm
At this years Saka Dawa celebrations at the Chenrezig Institute in Australia, Lama Zopa Rinpoche asked FPMT Centres around the world to recite the ‘Mantra Promised to Tara’ and to offer ‘Four Mandala Offering to Tara’ to help fulfil the holy wishes of HH the Dalai Lama.
Lama Zopa said: “This day — the day of Lord Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and passing away into parinirvana — I felt we should do something for Tibet, something to help His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s holy wishes succeed quickly, without taking much time. Something to bring about great change in mainland China, in the minds of the members of the government and those who control the politics there. Something for the freedom of Tibet or the freedom of the middle way approach, whatever is best.
To fulfil this request, JBCL Director Kerry Prest is leading a Chittamani Tara puja on Monday evenings, 8.00pm to 9.30pm on the following dates: 25th June, 2nd July and 9th July to do the ‘Four Mandala Offerings to Tara’. All are welcome to attend.
Dharma students and practitioners will be reciting the mantra at Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds on Friday 6th July 5pm to 6pm, before the birthday celebrations for His Holiness. All welcome.
