Discovering Buddhism Module 3: Presenting the Path
Wednesdays: 18:30 – 20:00 from 9 January to 13 February (n.b there is no Discovering Buddhism class on the 6 Feb)
This module is an overview of the entire Tibetan Buddhist path to enlightenment. It covers the life story of the Buddha and the basic teachings of Buddhism, following the unique system for putting Buddhist philosophy into practice known as the Lamrim, or “graduated path to enlightenment.” The Lamrim is a set of easy to understand and practice meditations that help us to develop the wisdom and compassion we need to transform our life into a meaningful path, and can also be applied to solving the problems of daily life.
Discovering Buddhism is ideal for those new to Buddhist philosophy and practise. Each of the 12 modules runs for 5 or 6 weeks and you can attend the whole module or just drop into individual classes. You don’t need to attend the whole module to deepen your understanding of different aspects of Buddhist philosophy and practice.
Drop in for individual sessions or book using the book button above. Suggested donation £6 per session.
Classes are offered for free at Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds so as many people as possible can benefit. We do not get grants and all donations go towards running the Centre. You can donate at the start of a class or online by clicking the link on the right.
