Mindfulness in Daily Life workshop

with Ken Lunn

This one-day workshop covers key meditation and mindfulness techniques to help bring more ease and balance into your daily life.

Based on the world-famous Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, MBSR uses a combination of mindfulness meditation and awareness to help people become more present, relaxed and at ease with the ups and downs that daily life presents.

Whether you are new to mindfulness or have a regular practice this is an opportunity to explore techniques to enhance your experience of daily life in a peaceful meditation space.

Over the course of the day there will be a mixture of guided meditations, relaxation, movement and readings and a chance to discuss how mindfulness practices can benefit you.

Suggested donation £25 for the workshop

There is a small kitchen area at Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds so you are welcome to bring your own vegetarian food for lunch. Tea and coffee is available throughout the day. There is also a park nearby and plenty of local shops and cafes.

About the teacher:

Ken Lunn is an experienced meditator and qualified mindfulness teacher with over 20 years of practice that has supported a successful career in business and the public with raising a family. Mindfulness meditation helped Ken recover from a long period of acute stress, to manage difficult personal circumstances and later to re-engage with a high-profile career managing large, complex programmes of work. The application of mindfulness in a real world context informs Ken’s practice and teaching on both a personal and professional level. He has a MA in Mindfulness-Based Approaches from Bangor University Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice.

“It was always my aspiration to teach some form of meditation, and the emergence of mindfulness as a health and well being intervention is exciting; the opportunity to teach techniques that I have found supportive is very fulfilling.”
