Mindfulness is a skill and practice that helps develop present-minded attention. It enables us to work with the way we think and feel so we can meet life’s challenges with less reactivity and tension, and more responsiveness and care. As a mind-body approach, it can increase our ability to manage difficult situations and make wise choices to reduce stress and anxiety. Research shows the positive effects mindfulness has on several aspects of whole-person health, including the mind, body and behaviour, as well as our relationships with others. These classes are suitable for people new to the practice of mindfulness, and for those with some experience looking to refresh their practice in a group setting.
Each session includes guided mindfulness meditations (sitting and movement based) and group discussions to deepen your understanding of what mindfulness is and how you can benefit from the practice. The sessions are facilitated by Ken Lunn and Lynne Dowson.
Please wear comfortable clothing for ease of movement and relaxation.

Classes are offered for free at Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds so as many people as possible can benefit. We do not get grants and all donations go towards running the Centre. You can donate at the start of a class or online by clicking the link on the right.

About the teachers:
Ken Lunn has an MA in Mindfulness-Based Approaches from Bangor University and is a qualified Mindfulness teacher with over 20 years of practice.
