with Joseph Brown
Meditative yoga for relaxation and balance is not your typical yoga class with an emphasis on challenging physical postures, stretching and breaking into a sweat! This uplifting and relaxing lunch-time class focuses on simple yogic techniques to deepen and calm your breathing and relax your body and mind. Each session includes non-strenuous seated yoga postures combined with mantra recitation and breathing exercises set to uplifting Indian spiritual music and finished off with a 15 minute melodic gong bath where you can lie down and deeply relax..
This class is a perfect way to incorporate some relaxing ‘me’ time into your busy working week. No previous experience of yoga is necessary as these sessions are suitable for all levels. Just wear comfortable clothing for ease of sitting on either a chair or the floor. Mats and cushions are provided. The class is led by Joseph Brown, a KYTA qualified yoga instructor. Please note that this yoga originates from an Indic spiritual practice and is not Tibetan Buddhism.
The class runs for 30mins with an additional optional 15 minutes of relaxation and a gong bath.

About the teacher: Joseph Brown
Joe first started doing Kundalini yoga as he was drawn to the philosophy of the practice and as he had suffered a sports injury, he thought that yoga could both heal his body and expand his mind. Joe personally found practicing Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, to be a very transformative process and the teachings helped him understand life more clearly. Joe said: There are many great tools to learn from this ancient technology – each lesson one learns can help to accelerate or calm life, expand an area of one’s personality or strengthen aspects of the body / /brain /nervous system. It helps you to act with more connection, awareness and direction.
Kundalini Yoga can be done every day as a Sadhana (spiritual practice) based around Sikh Dharma and the coming of the Aquarian age or shift in astrological energy. Joe also says of Kundalini Yoga; ‘It allows you to begin to set and meet the challenges of your life, it has helped and touched me profoundly and I would recommend it for anyone to try and see how they get on.
Joe teaches a regular Kundalini Yoga classes at Leeds Dance Studio and a light yoga class at Jamyang Buddhist Centre. He can be contacted at Jo_sephbrown@outlook.com / 07854950952
