Introduction to Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a gentle and embodied presence of mind. Cultivating mindfulness through meditation nurtures our innate capacity for presence. We develop our kindness, care and curiosity; turning towards whatever is here right now, in body, heart and mind.
In this 5 week series, which you can take as a course or drop in for individual sessions when you can, you will learn the art of mindfulness.
In each session you will be invited to establish a personal meditation practice that fits to your life and needs. This will be supported by mindfulness teachings and practices, meditation instruction and discussion suitable for beginners, as well as to experienced practitioners who wish to support their practice.
During the class we will practice mindfulness sitting, standing and walking. Please wear comfortable clothing for ease of movement and relaxation.
Suggested donation £6 per session.
Classes are offered for free at Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds so as many people as possible can benefit. We do not get grants and all donations go towards running the Centre and supporting the work we do. You can donate at the start of a class or online by clicking the link on the right.
About the teacher:
Danny Ford is an Integrative Psychotherapist and Mindfulness Teacher who specialises in supporting people with complex or relational trauma. Danny works one-to-one with clients in Leeds and online with clients across the UK. He also leads a lunchtime meditation class at Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds and curates his own popular Mindfulness Meditation Podcast that has been downloaded more than 120,000 times.
