Join us for a Family Morning at Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds
For younger children there will be story-telling and an art activity and for older children the opportunity to set up the shrine with offering bowls, cakes and flowers (a traditional practice in many Buddhist households around the world).
After this everyone will come together to have some fun chanting mantras including Om Mani Padme Hum (the mantra of the Buddha of Compassion) and Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha (the mantra of Tara, the protector and mother of all the Buddhas).
We will then go to over to Park Square for a shared picnic (5 minutes walk away).
This family morning is also a chance for parents to meet other parents with a shared interest in Buddhism and to hear about ‘Mandala Warriors’, a secular family programme starting in the new year to help children build inner confidence and beneficial qualities such as kindness, rejoicing, patience, forgiveness, contentment and courage.
Let us know if you would like to join us by booking on this event – email firstname.lastname@example.org – and please bring vegetarian food to share at the picnic. All welcome.
