Pujas are chanted prayer ceremonies. You can join in the prayers and chanting from the sadhana (meditation manual) or simply sit, listen and enjoy the blessings.

In Tibetan Buddhism Tara is the embodiment of the compassionate action of all the Buddhas and ”Praises to the 21 Taras” is one of the practices Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds was advised to do by Dagri Rinpoche, a much loved and respected Tibetan Buddhist Lama within the Gelugpa tradition who came to Leeds in 2016.

Tara is sometimes called the “swift pacifier” as this traditional Tibetan Buddhist devotional practice is very useful for removing obstacles you may have in your daily life, and in particular for progress on the spiritual path.

Although this is quite an esoteric practice with recitation of prayers, visualisations, meditation and chanting the 21 verse praises to Tara in Tibetan and English, the puja and what to do will be explained as we go through and is suitable for everyone.
Pujas are open to everyone so please just drop-by if you would like to join us.
Suggested donation £3.
There is also a short Tara puja at JBCL every Monday (except public holidays) at 12:30 – 13:15pm.
