Discovering Buddhism Module 2: Mind and Its Potential
Tuesdays: 18:30 – 20:00 from 6 November to 11 December
This module will explore the Buddhist understanding of the mind and its role in our lives, regardless of whether we have a religious perspective or not. We will compare the Buddhist view of mind with the scientific view of the mind/brain and explore the vital implications of these different views. This course explores– how meditation and the practice of mindfulness are very effective ways to work with the mind.
Discovering Buddhism is ideal for those new to Buddhist philosophy and practise. Each of the 13 modules runs for 5 or 6 weeks and you can attend the whole module or just drop into individual classes. You don’t need to attend the whole module to deepen your understanding of different aspects of Buddhist philosophy and practice.
Drop in for individual sessions or book by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org Suggested donation £6 per session.
Classes are offered for free at Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds so as many people as possible can benefit. We do not get grants and all donations go towards running the Centre. You can donate at the start of a class or online by clicking the link on the right.
